This quick and simple Chinese steamed aubergine recipe was one of my favourite dishes I had when my boyfriend and I traveled through China.

    Chinese Steamed Aubergines

My boyfriend and I went travelling around China for 5 weeks and absolutely loved this dish. It's full of umami and simply delicious. It only takes 15 minutes to make and is perfect served with a portion of sticky rice. You could chop it up smaller and have it with noodles or just by itself!

If you're a fan of aubergine, you'll love my Maple Tahini Aubergine recipe cause it's super simple to make and full of flavour! I've also put together a full roundup of my easy eggplant recipes if you're looking for even more ways to cook with this gorgeous vegetable!

Hello, thank you for the recipe. I would like to try it (I love aubergines) but I don't know what hot oil is. Could you please let me know?
      Thanks in advance!

Hey! Thanks for your comment, you need to place the oil into a saucepan and heat it on high for 5 minutes. Be careful, as it will be really hot! Hope that helps! Enjoy x
